Maryville College International Studies Coordinator : Dr. Chad Berry chad.berry@maryvillecollege.edu International study programs developed and operated by Maryville College: Maryville has a series of direct exchanges with 14 institutions in 9 different countries: Puerto Rico, Mexico, Korea, Japan, England, Northern Ireland, France, South Africa, and Venezuela. We have consortial agreements for programs in Germany and in Africa. Maryville College has also recently established new study abroad opportunities for students through the International Student Exchange Program (ISEP). ISEP gives our students access to institutions abroad that are beyond our scope of our current programming. Students will now be able to choose to participate on a Maryville College Direct Exchange or an ISEP exchange program. Students pay regular tuition and fees to Maryville College, but go abroad for a semester. Likewise, students from these exchange institutions pay tuition and fees to their home school, but come to Maryville. These are immersion programs whereby MC students enroll in "real" international courses; no Maryville professor accompanies students. The Ragsdale International Scholarship helps offset the cost of transportation to these countries for need-based students. Maryville also regularly offers experiential trips--usually about three weeks in length--during the January and May terms. A group of students accompany two professors for an in-depth study trip to a particular country. Previous trips were recently organized to Cuba, Vietnam, China, Turkey, South Africa, India, and Venezuela, to name a few. For more information, see the Maryville College Study Abroad website at |
