Number of Faculty who responded “Yes”
to the question, “Would you be interested in participating in a faculty
development trip abroad with faculty from other ACA schools?”
151 (149 electronic responses;
2 paper responses)
Of the 151 who responded that they would be interested in a faculty development trip abroad,
Of the same 151,
The survey asked respondents to list the three countries they would most
like to visit, in rank order. There were 77 different countries listed in all.
The twelve countries mentioned most often were the following (#1 is the most
often-listed country):
1. England
2. Italy
3. Germany
4. France
5. Australia
6. China
7. Spain
8. Japan
9. Greece
10. Ireland
11. Mexico
12. South Africa
The survey was sent to faculty in all ACA-member institutions, via e-mail. Of the 34 member colleges and universities, 33 had faculty who responded positively to the survey (that is, faculty who said they would be interested in an international faculty development opportunity with other ACA faculty). This seems to indicate a great potential for cross-campus collaboration in this area.
