International study programs developed and operated by West Virginia Wesleyan:

International Travel Courses are faculty-led three-week experiences with several preparatory sessions prior to the term of travel. West Virginia Wesleyan has recently moved from a January to an Interim Term between semesters and a May Term for these course offerings. Some of the courses are offered on a rotating basis.

Interim Term 2003: Guatemala: Community Service

May Term 2003: Roman Odyssey, France, South Korea, Ireland
Mission Service Project to Russia

Other courses: Ghana, Nepal, England, Spain, Biological Experience in Peru, Belize, or Costa Rica

One of the strengths of the International Travel Courses is in the offering of a "first" international experience in an organized group setting led by a faculty member. Students and their parents are more comfortable with this three-week experience that seems manageable for a student who has never flown, never been outside the United States, never traveled without family, or never been adventuresome. Many students move from this "first" experience to expanded possibilities and prospects for their future, namely international internships and semester abroad.
