| Form and Analysis Example Library |
Introduction and InstructionsThe files in this collection are intended for the demonstration of basic structures in tonal music. Included are examples of period structures, simple binary form, rounded binary form, and simple and composite ternary forms. The library consists of excerpts of compositions for piano that serve to illustrate the fundamental principles of form in tonal music. This library will be amended with additional examples as well as examples of other formal structures. The files may be viewed, printed, transposed, and played back by a multimedia PC or Macintosh. System requirements:Windows: Microsoft Internet Explorer 4 or higher; Netscape 4 or higher, Windows 95/98/2000/NT4/Me/XP Macintosh: Classic Mac OS (8.6-9.x), Opera 5 web browser. It is recommended that Classic OS users increase browser memory to at least 8 mb. Large scores may require more memory. Macintosh OS X: OS 10.1 or higher, Internet Explorer 5.1, Netscape 6, Opera 5, OmniWeb 4.1 or higher Important information for users of Macintosh Classic OS (8.6-9.x):Scorch for Mac is now "carbonized," which means that it runs on OS 8.6-9.x and OS X. On the Classis OS, Scorch requires a "carbonized" browser so this new version does not currently work on Explorer or Netscape, as these browsers have not yet been released as "carbonized" applications. Scorch on Classic Mac OS requires that you use the Opera 5 browser and have the latest version of the "CarbonLib" system extension installed. For all users:You may download Scorch from Sibelius Software at www.Sibelius.com. You may download the Opera web browser from Opera Software at www.Opera.com.
