INTRODUCTION
This page contains practical information
for music theory students. Professor David Horton gives Powerpoint presentations
and handouts he uses with music theory students at Lee University. Of
particular interest to students involved in commercial music production
are handouts that outline chord symbology, a term referring to common
chords and Dr. Horton's use of symbols.
Dr. Horton teaches classes in Music Theory,
Church Music, and Composition/Arranging. Although his training is in music
education, he considers areas of specialty to be music and worship, congregational
worship leading, and the theology of worship. He has published several
compositions and arrangements and has produced several albums with Campus
Choir featuring special guests such as Alvin Slaughter and Lari Goss.
