Cluster 2 Project
Tutor.edu Online Tutoring Manual Tutor.edu is an on-line tutor training manual consisting of fourteen modules that can be used separately by writing center directors or collectively by instructors as a semester course. The manual covers topics such as writing center publicity, ethics, documentation styles, and research strategies. The site contains exercises and additional resources for students and faculty. In 1999, through an ACA initiative, five professors (Virginia Bower, Mars Hill College; Charlene Kiser, Milligan College; Kim McMurtry, Montreat College; Ellen Millsaps, Carson-Newman College; and Katherine VandeBrake, King College) met and began discussing WAC initiatives, especially the role of Writing Centers. The need for a training manual for Writing Center tutors was identified, and the professors began working on an online tutor training manual. The Project goals and objectives were as follows:
