Getting A WAC Program Started

This page contains ideas for starting a WAC program, some of which was presented during the second ACA-Culpeper workshop held on October 29-30, 1998, at Carson-Newman College, Jefferson City, TN.  The focus is on WAC programs at three ACA schools: Mars Hill College, Carson-Newman College, and Emory & Henry College.  These programs, as you will discover, are in various stages of development, and they share ideas on how they started and how they sustain their WAC efforts. You may find it helpful to peruse the information as you contemplate the goals and scope of your own programs. We hope that you will explore ideas given here and work with your colleagues at these schools as you pursue your goals in the area of writing across the curriculum.
