The 1997 ACA Culpeper-funded "Communicating in the 21st Century: Writing Across the Curriculum at Private Colleges of the Mountains" began with the belief that writing and technology are integral to all disciplines.  Since 1997, we have been actively involved with private colleges in the Appalachian region.  One of our beliefs is that faculty who use or who want to use writing in their classes need support systems.  One support is the writing center. Through our involvement, seven colleges have started writing centers to support faculties who want to use more writing, and others have shared their resources and have grown from collaboration with other writing centers.  The following links will take you to model writing centers, whose administrators are happy to share resources and to communicate with you about your writing center.
